> Markdown version of https://joinmarka.com/en/fees/amazon

On a CA$100 sale in a category at Amazon.ca's 15% "Everything Else" referral rate, Amazon keeps CA$15.00, so you receive CA$85.00, before the CA$1.49/item sold or CA$29.99/mo selling plan.

## What you keep at five sale prices

| Sale price | Referral fee (15%) | You receive, before the plan | Marka card sale: Stripe fee | You receive on Marka |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| CA$25.00 | CA$3.75 | CA$21.25 | CA$1.03 | CA$23.97 |
| CA$50.00 | CA$7.50 | CA$42.50 | CA$1.75 | CA$48.25 |
| CA$100.00 | CA$15.00 | CA$85.00 | CA$3.20 | CA$96.80 |
| CA$250.00 | CA$37.50 | CA$212.50 | CA$7.55 | CA$242.45 |
| CA$500.00 | CA$75.00 | CA$425.00 | CA$14.80 | CA$485.20 |

Marka charges a 0% marketplace fee. A card sale through Marka checkout pays Stripe's processing fee (2.9% + CA$0.30, which is CA$3.20 on a CA$100 sale), and that fee goes to Stripe, not to Marka. A sale paid in cash at pickup pays no marketplace fee and no card fee. Marka's paid plans (see pricing) are separate and not counted here.

- The table assumes a category at Amazon's 15% "Everything Else" referral rate. Most categories run 8–17% (8% for Computers and Consumer Electronics, 17% for Clothing at CA$20 or more and Eyewear), and a few sit higher, so check your own category. The referral fee has a CA$0.40 minimum per item.
- The selling plan (CA$1.49/item sold or CA$29.99/mo) is charged on top of the referral fee and is not in the table. On a CA$100 sale the per-item plan would leave you CA$83.51 instead of CA$85.00.
- Amazon's pricing page lists both plans as "+ additional selling fees", so even with the plan added this is not everything Amazon can charge.

Amazon.ca's referral rate for the category you pick (15% on "Everything Else", the default), on the item price plus the shipping the buyer pays, with the per-item minimum where the category has one (CA$0.40 on most). The CA$1.49/item sold or CA$29.99/mo selling plan is extra and not included.

## How the fee is made up

### Referral fee

A percentage of the item's sale price, set by category: 8–17% on most categories (8% for Computers and Consumer Electronics, up to 17% for Clothing at CA$20 or more and Eyewear), 15% on "Everything Else", with a CA$0.40 minimum per item. A few categories sit higher: the pricing page lists Jewelry at 20% up to CA$325 and Amazon Device Accessories at 45%.

### Selling plan

Individual: CA$1.49 per item sold. Professional: CA$29.99 per month. Referral fees are charged in addition to either plan. Professional costs less than Individual once you sell more than 20 items a month (CA$29.99 ÷ CA$1.49).

### Payouts

Amazon.ca's pricing page says payments are dispersed into your bank account every two weeks.

## Questions about Amazon.ca fees

### How much does Amazon.ca charge sellers?

Two things: a referral fee, a percentage of the sale price set by category (8–17% on most categories, 15% on "Everything Else", CA$0.40 minimum per item), and a selling plan (CA$1.49/item sold or CA$29.99/mo). Referral fees are charged in addition to the plan fee.

### Is Amazon.ca's Individual or Professional plan cheaper?

Individual costs CA$1.49 per item sold and Professional CA$29.99 per month, so Professional costs less once you sell more than 20 items a month. The referral fee is charged on top of either plan.

### What do I receive on a CA$100 Amazon.ca sale?

In a 15% category, CA$85.00 before the selling plan: CA$15.00 goes to Amazon as the referral fee. With the per-item Individual plan (CA$1.49) you receive CA$83.51. Other categories have other referral rates.

### How often does Amazon.ca pay sellers?

Amazon.ca's pricing page says payments are dispersed into your bank account every two weeks.

### What would the same sale cost on Marka?

Marka charges a 0% marketplace fee. A card sale through Marka checkout pays Stripe's processing fee (2.9% + CA$0.30, which is CA$3.20 on a CA$100 sale), and that fee goes to Stripe, not to Marka. A sale paid in cash at pickup pays no marketplace fee and no card fee. Marka's paid plans (see pricing) are separate and not counted here.
