## What you keep at five sale prices

| Sale price | Facebook fee, local sale | You receive, paid outside Facebook | Marka card sale: Stripe fee | You receive on Marka |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| CA$25.00 | CA$0.00 | CA$25.00 | CA$1.03 | CA$23.97 |
| CA$50.00 | CA$0.00 | CA$50.00 | CA$1.75 | CA$48.25 |
| CA$100.00 | CA$0.00 | CA$100.00 | CA$3.20 | CA$96.80 |
| CA$250.00 | CA$0.00 | CA$250.00 | CA$7.55 | CA$242.45 |
| CA$500.00 | CA$0.00 | CA$500.00 | CA$14.80 | CA$485.20 |

Marka charges a 0% marketplace fee. A card sale through Marka checkout pays Stripe's processing fee (2.9% + CA$0.30, which is CA$3.20 on a CA$100 sale), and that fee goes to Stripe, not to Marka. A sale paid in cash at pickup pays no marketplace fee and no card fee. Marka's paid plans (see pricing) are separate and not counted here.

- The table is a local sale: you list on Marketplace, agree the price with the buyer and settle in person, outside Facebook's checkout. Facebook's fee is CA$0.00 at every price, so the comparison is with the Marka columns.
- Facebook's 10%, with a minimum of $0.80, is not in the table. Facebook's seller policy attaches it to sellers using onsite checkout, and Facebook's own page on selling with shipping, read from Canada, says selling with shipping on Marketplace isn't available in your location right now.
- Facebook prints that minimum as "$0.80" without naming a currency, so this page does not convert it.

## How the fee is made up

### A local sale

CA$0.00. The "Selling fees" section of Facebook's seller policy names one charge, and it is for sellers using onsite checkout (below). It names no fee for a sale you settle in person.

### The selling fee on onsite checkout

Facebook's seller policy says Meta will charge individual sellers 10%, with a minimum of $0.80, "per transaction". It is calculated on the entire amount of the transaction, including the sale price, any shipping fees and applicable taxes.

### Shipping and checkout in Canada

Facebook's help page "Sell with Shipping on Marketplace" says, read from Canada, that selling with shipping on Marketplace isn't available in your location right now. The table therefore does not apply the 10% fee. Facebook's help pages are where to check if that changes.
