Pickup is yours to decline. Mark the meetup as rejected in Marka chat — for DIRECT (off-platform) pickups you owe nothing, and for CHECKOUT (card) pickups Stripe refunds you. Rejections and no-shows are logged against seller reliability.

Marka never sees your card. Stripe processes payments directly to the seller's account with the same protections any online card transaction has — chargebacks go through your bank. We never hold buyer funds.

Yes. Every listing has a Message button. Messaging is free and unlimited, and you'll get an email if a reply arrives while you're away.

When you reserve a pickup, Marka chat opens between you and the seller to choose a meetup time and place. We log both confirmations and pickup completion. We don't insure cash handoffs — meet in public, bring a friend, trust your gut.

For CHECKOUT (card) orders, your card pays the seller's Stripe account directly — Marka is never in the middle. For DIRECT (pickup) orders, you pay the seller in person off-platform (cash, e-transfer, however you agree). Marka takes 0% either way.

Yes. Marka is a Canadian marketplace: listings price in CAD by default, sellers name the city an item is in, local pickup is coordinated in Marka chat, and our Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada. Sellers connect their own Stripe account, so a seller can be based anywhere Stripe operates — the listing tells you where the item actually is.
