Marka is designed so that every transaction is traceable, every card seller is Stripe-verified, and every payment is processed by Stripe — one of the world's most trusted payment processors.

Seller verification

Sellers who accept card payments complete Stripe's verification before checkout can be enabled:

• Stripe identity check. Sellers connect a Stripe Standard account and complete Stripe's Know Your Customer (KYC) process, which includes ID verification and bank account confirmation.
• Verified payout account. Marka only lets sellers with active, verified Stripe accounts accept card payments. Unverified sellers can list but not enable checkout.

Buyer protections

• Card payments via Stripe. All card payments go through Stripe Checkout. Stripe's fraud detection and chargeback process applies to every transaction.
• Dispute logs. Every order creates an immutable transaction record. In the event of a dispute, Marka provides transaction logs to support your chargeback claim. See our Refunds & Returns policy for how card refunds, cash deals, and chargebacks are handled.
• Coordinated pickup. For local pickup, Marka records the agreed pickup time and location. Do not hand over items before confirming payment on Marka.

Cash and direct transactions

Marka supports optional cash pickup for sellers who accept it. Cash transactions are between buyer and seller directly — Marka does not process, hold, or guarantee cash payments. Use Checkout (card) for full Marka protection.

Reporting a listing

If you encounter a listing that appears fraudulent, counterfeit, or in violation of our terms, contact us immediately at safety@joinmarka.com. We review all reports within 24 hours and remove violating listings promptly.

Prohibited items

Marka prohibits listings for: weapons and regulated goods, stolen property, counterfeit items, controlled substances, and items that violate Canadian federal or provincial law. Full list in our Terms of Service.
